Helen Georgia Triathlon Training Camp

Camp Objective

Aerobic Base / Strength Building

Get your season a jump start with a week of aerobic base/strength training in the beautiful White Georgia Mountain community of Helen, GA. This camp will provide you all with a chance to push your limits in both these areas. Your training at this camp will be enhanced by frequency, the ability to do over distance rides and runs on very challenging and different terrain as well as the ability to rest and practice proper recovery. Remember, RECOVERY IS KEY! In order to get the most out of the camp it is imperative that the extra work load and training is balanced with proper recovery, nutrition and rest. Enjoy your downtime from training while you are at the camp, but remember, you get stronger when you are resting properly. You will leave tired, but you will also leave stronger, both mentally and physically!

Sleeping Bear

Helen, GA (just outside of downtown Helen in Innsbrook)

Athlete Responsibilities: Come PREPARED*, check in, meals and a good attitude.

*Prepared physically and come prepared with proper clothing for all weather conditions

Camp Fee

$500.00 Fee ($650 couples) Includes:

  • Lodging at the beautiful local lodges (Monday to Sunday)
  • Professionally coached & organized workouts
  • All pool sessions
  • Nutrition provided by Infinit Nutrition for all training sessions

$200.00 Fee (camp only - no lodging)

Camp Schedule

Monday, March 26th
- Camp check-in (11:00am - 3:00pm Graystone Lodge)
- Bike (PM): 4:00pm (Aerobic Loosening-38 miles) - Base of Brasstown Bald and back (optional climb to the top of Brasstown Bald)


Tuesday, March 27th

- Swim (AM) 8:00am to 9:00am (Distance)

- Bike (AM) 10am – 6 to 7hrs (Aerobic Endurance-85 miles) – 6 Gap Ride
- Run (PM) – 20min – Transition Run

 

Wednesday, March 28th
- Run (AM) – 9:00am (Aerobic Endurance-18 miles) – Anna Ruby Falls trail run.
- Swim (PM) – 2:00 - Drills/Recovery


Thursday, March 29th
- Swim (AM) – 8:00am to 9:00am (Strength)
- Bike (PM) – 10:00am (Recovery Spin-70 miles) – Devils Branch


Friday, March 30th
- Bike (AM) – 10:00am (Aerobic Strength-40 miles) – Helen 3-Gap
- Run (PM) – 30min – Transition Run


Saturday, March 31st

- Swim (AM) 8:00am to 9:00am

- Bike (AM) 10:00am – (Aerobic Strength-40 miles) – Reverse Helen 3-Gap

- Run (PM) - 60min - Transition Run
- 7:00pm BBQ at Sleeping Bear Lodge

Sunday, April 1st

-Optional easy morning recovery run

-Drive Home
