IN REMEMBRANCE

Usually writing is like therapy for me – as I love to write this column, and I love to talk to every triathlon freak I see.  You’re all nuts, and I love ya!  Today however, it hurts to write, and I am having trouble seeing the words on my screen through the tears in my eyes.

2010 Preview

Ah… at least for a few hours, it smelled like spring was in the air in Ohio, and that can only mean …it’s triathlon season in Ohio 2010 style!  This weekend was also the annual HFP Training camp at Hilliard Aquatics, and we got a preview of the Wheelie Fun HFP Race team for the upcoming season.

Armed Forces Run

I hope you’re all enjoying a beautiful New Year in Ohio with the fresh snow and easy to count temperatures (AKA – it’s cold and snowy and not a lot of fun to run in.) We’re all getting lots of miles in on the dreadmills and trainers, and that’s the only option for some of us. Tread on.

New Beginnings, New Faces, New Places

As the year winds down and we all crank up our pre-season prep work in the weight room, it’s a great time to feed that tri junkie “jones” by planning your 2010 race season. It was in that planning that I happened upon a few things that made me light up with anticipation.

How are you?

Such an innocent question and 99% of the world answers in some version of “fine”. Yes, those of you who have asked me that question know my response is some variation of “slow, fat, and ugly – but consistent”, and that’s usually matched with a smile. The smile is the telltale sign of how I really am, and I am sure you know this.

From Tragedy to Triumph

What a weekend! As a lot of you know (being avid fans of the “View from the Hill”), this weekend was the date of the benefit for Shane Tobin and Brett Hensinger, Aka “Team Tobin”, the two athletes that were run down by a car while training for a triathlon. (see the “View from the Hill” Sept. 21 for full details of the accident and injuries).
